Canada’s Walk of Fame hosted a special “Hometown Stars” event on June 26, 2024, to honour 2022 Inductee Tatiana Maslany in her hometown of Regina, Saskatchewan. Presented by Scotiabank in partnership with Cineplex with special support from Air Canada, the event featured special guests, including Maslany’s high school drama teacher, and a commemorative plaque unveiling. The celebration also included musical performances, with Regina R&B and hip-hop artist Melodna singing the national anthem, and a surprise performance by Tatiana’s husband, actor and singer-songwriter Brendan Hines. As part of her induction, Maslany selected Lulu’s Lodge, a supportive transitional home for LGBTQ2S+ youth, to receive a $10,000 donation.
This initiative highlighted Maslany’s ongoing commitment to LGBTQ2S+ rights, a cause she has passionately championed throughout her career.
