Canada’s Walk of Fame’s Future Storytellers is a ground-breaking program presented by NBCUniversal, Seeing Red, and Cineplex. Since its launch in 2022, the initiative has dedicated itself to discovering and empowering the next generation of film talent. It aims to not only highlight the potential of young directors but also provide them with the resources and support they need to bring their visions to life and make their mark in the film and television industry.
For the 2024 Program year, we proudly showcase the work of four emerging directors and alumni of Humber Polytechnic and Sheridan College. They were selected to create vignettes profiling some of the most accomplished and notable figures in Canadian achievement, including 2018 Canada’s Walk of Fame Inductee Andy Kim (Directed by Arshia Prajapati, Sheridan), 2023 Canada’s Walk of Fame Community Hero Honouree Autumn Peltier (Directed by Anne Hoang, Humber), 2001 Canada’s Walk of Fame Inductee Kurt Browning (Directed by Nick Tablac, Humber), 2023 Canada’s Walk of Fame Inductee Linda Schuyler (Directed by Yagnam, Humber), and 2023 Canada’s Walk of Fame Inductee Lorraine Segato (Directed by Poppi Fella Pellegrino, Sheridan). These students were given the opportunity to bring their unique perspectives and talents to the forefront in telling the stories of these inspiring Canada’s Walk of Fame Inductees and Honourees.
Highlights of Future Storytellers are featured in Cineplex pre-show entertainment nationwide, giving audiences across Canada a glimpse into these incredible works.
We invite you to explore the incredible pieces created by these Future Storytellers and be moved by their passion, creativity, and depth, as they pave the way for a more diverse and inclusive industry. These emerging directors represent the future of filmmaking in Canada and, in partnership with NBCUniversal, Seeing Red, and Cineplex, we are honoured to be a part of their journey.
