Will Arnett is best known for his work on the Emmy Award-winning Fox sitcom Arrested Development, which earned him his first Emmy nomination in 2003. The show made its highly anticipated return to Netflix in 2018 after a five-year hiatus, with Arnett reprising the fan-favourite role of “Gob Bluth.” Arnett also famously guest starred on NBC’s beloved 30 Rock, for which he received four Emmy nominations for his portrayal of the character “Devon Banks.”
Arnett can currently be seen on the second season of Sundance TV’s Riviera, starring opposite Julia Stiles, as well as the second season of the Netflix comedy Flaked, which he co-created, co-wrote and executive produced. In Flaked, Arnett plays Chip, a self-appointed “guru” who falls for the object of his best friend’s fascination.
Arnett was also recently seen in The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part in February 2019, The Gong Show, in which he starred and also executive produced, as well as The Lego Batman Movie, which opened in 2017 to rave reviews. He currently lends his voice as the star of the Netflix animated comedy BoJack Horseman, now coming up on its sixth season.
Previously, Arnett starred as “Vernon Fenwick” in Michael Bay’s summer smash Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. Arnett also starred on CBS’s hit comedy series The Millers and appeared opposite Christina Applegate and Maya Rudolph in NBC’s Up All Night. He was on Fox’s comedy series Running Wilde opposite Kerri Russell, in which he wrote alongside writer/director Mitch Hurwitz.
Arnett has made many memorable appearances on TV classics such as Parks and Recreation, Sex and the City, The Sopranos, Boston Public, Third Watch, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Will & Grace. Additional credits include The Mike O’Malley Show, Jonah Hex, When in Rome, G-Force, Semi Pro, Blades of Glory, The Brothers Solomon, R.V., Monster-In-Law, The Broken Giant, Southie and Ed’s Next Move.
Arnett’s ubiquitous voice work also extends to the role of “Surly” in the animated comedy The Nut Job, Monsters vs. Aliens, Horton Hears a Who, Ice Age 2: The Meltdown, Sit Down, Shut Up, as well as a variety of commercials; most notably the voice of GMC Trucks.
In August 2014, Arnett launched Electric Avenue, a production company which develops and produces content across all platforms. Electric Avenue has since inked a first-look deal at CBS TV Studios.
Arnett currently splits his time between New York and Los Angeles.
