Goulet, a Grammy, Tony and Emmy winner, is a legendary artist of striking power.

Goulet moved with his family to Edmonton at the age of 13, and not long after became a DJ on CKUA radio. He won a singing scholarship at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, and in 1951, he made his concert debut in Edmonton as part of Handel’s Messiah.

His illustrious career has spanned over half a century; Goulet is considered one of the greatest baritones of our time. Equally adept at picking up nuances of a Broadway musical, caressing the lyrics of a romantic ballad or amplifying the excitement of a swinging melody, he has enriched the lives of music lovers worldwide. He took Broadway by storm and won the Theatre World Award with his debut as Sir Lancelot in the original Camelot (1960) also starring Richard Burton and Julie Andrews. Mr. Goulet achieved instant recognition as one of the American theatres’ most charismatic and talented musical stars. Since his Broadway debut, Mr. Goulet has been on a remarkable journey.

His stage credits include: Sunshine Town, Thunder Rock, The Optimist, Dreamgirl, Carousel, Finian’s Rainbow, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, The Pajama Game, Beggars Opera, Bells Are Ringing, Meet Me in St. Louis, Camelot, On A Clear Day, Kiss Me Kate and more.

His numerous television appearances include numerous specials in his own name, as well as television appearances on Police Story, Cannon, Fantasy Island, Make My Day, In the Heat Of The Night, The Simpsons, Just Shoot Me, and many more. Goulet has over 60 best-selling albums, and his film credits include Beetlejuice, Scrooged, Naked Gun 2, Mr. Wrong, The Last Producer, Toy Story II and Disney’s animated feature Recess.

Interesting Facts

During the 1950s, hosted a Canadian network variety show, General Electric’s Showtime.

After a 1993 cancer diagnosis, he became a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society.

Goulet debuted on Broadway as Sir Lancelot opposite Richard Burton and Julie Andrews in the original production of Camelot in 1960.
