Bob Ezrin began his show business career in 1958 at the CBC in his hometown of Toronto as a child actor and worked in radio, theatre and music before going to work for Nimbus 9 Productions, where he began his career as a music producer.
Ezrin has worked with many of the world’s most important contemporary artists including Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper, U2, Peter Gabriel, Deep Purple, Kiss, Johnny Reid, Lang Lang, Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, K’naan, will.i.am, The Tenors, Young Artists For Haiti, Elton John, Fefe Dobson, Lou Reed, Rod Stewart and many others. In 2010, Ezrin produced “Wavin’ Flag” with K’naan and Young Artists for Haiti and helped to raise over $2 million for disaster relief. That song won the Juno Award in 2011 for Single of the Year.
He has produced numerous major events including the re-opening of the New Orleans SuperDome in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina, and Pete Seeger’s 90th Birthday Concert at Madison Square Garden. Among various film and TV projects over the years, Ezrin produced the award-winning film “Fade To Black” starring Jay-Z.
He is also an innovator and entrepreneur having co-founded The Nimbus School of Recording Arts in Vancouver, B.C. in 2009; Enigma Digital, a seminal Internet broadcasting and social media company in 1999; and 7th Level Inc (Nasdaq: SEVL) in 1992, the first PC based interactive entertainment company. He also served as Chairman of Live Nation Recordings in 2008 and Vice-Chairman of Clear Channel Interactive in 2001.
He was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2004, and into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame in 2006. In 2013 he was named an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Conservatory of Music.
