On May 26, 2023, Canada’s Walk of Fame rolled out the red carpet on Simcoe Street outside Roy Thomson Hall for a special ceremony unveiling 11 new sidewalk stars. Fans gathered to celebrate some of Canada’s greatest achievers as they shared this milestone with family and friends.
Inductees in attendance included:
- Ajay Virmani, trailblazing entrepreneur
- Bret “Hitman” Hart, a true champion and among the greatest professional wrestlers of all time
- Graham Greene, one of Canada’s most beloved and iconic actors
- Jully Black, Canada’s Queen of R&B and Soul and ambassador for women’s empowerment
- The family of Frederick Banting and Charles Best (posthumous), insulin discoverers
- The family of Salome Bey (posthumous), Canada’s first lady of blues
Additional stars were unveiled for Inductees not present, including Keanu Reeves, Senator Lieutenant-General Roméo Dallaire, Bruce Cockburn, Damian Warner, and Allan Slaight (posthumous).
Speakers included Jeffrey Latimer, CEO of Canada’s Walk of Fame, and Councillor Ausma Malik. The ceremony was hosted by Kyle Miller.
