On April 25, 2022, Canada’s Walk of Fame celebrated Bruce Cockburn, 2021 Inductee and acclaimed musician, with a special Hometown Stars event at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. The free public celebration featured a commemorative plaque unveiling, guest speakers, and a performance by First Nations singer-songwriter Mary Bryton. Presented by Cineplex, the event honoured Cockburn’s enduring contributions to Canadian music and philanthropy.

Speakers Included:

  • Bruce Cockburn, 2021 Canada’s Walk of Fame Inductee and Guest of Honour
  • Jeffrey Latimer, CEO, Canada’s Walk of Fame
  • Jason Benway, Executive Director, Operations – Quebec West & Ontario East, Cineplex
  • Erin Benjamin, Vice Chair, Board of Directors, The Unison Fund, and President & CEO, Canadian Live Music Association
  • Leticia Ama Deawuo, Executive Director, SeedChange

Performance Included:

  • Mary Bryton, First Nations singer-songwriter and musician

Bruce Cockburn selected The Unison Fund and SeedChange as beneficiaries of his $10,000 donation, split equally to support music and sustainable agriculture initiatives.
