On Monday, November 14, 2022, Canada’s Walk of Fame celebrated 2021 Inductees Frederick Banting, Charles Best, James Collip, and John Macleod with a special Hometown Stars event at Banting House National Historic Site in London, Ontario. The free public celebration featured a commemorative plaque unveiling, musical performances, and community reflections on the discovery of insulin, a breakthrough that has saved millions worldwide. Presented by Scotiabank in partnership with Cineplex, the event coincided with Diabetes Canada’s annual World Diabetes Day activities.

Performances Included:
- Frederick Banting Secondary School Chamber Choir, performing the national anthem
- Jordan Hart, singer-songwriter and 2022 Canada’s Walk of Fame RBC Emerging Musician Program second prize winner
As part of their induction, a donation was made to charities in honour of Banting, Best, Collip, and Macleod. The event also featured the unveiling of personalized commemorative bricks at Banting House’s Global Garden, supporting ongoing diabetes research and innovation.
