Friday, May 3, 2024, was truly unforgettable as we held our Canada’s Walk of Fame Hometown Stars event to honour Rick Mercer, cherished Canadian satirist, comedian, humanitarian, and 2023 Inductee. Taking place at the Justina Centre in Outer Cove, NL, the event was presented by Scotiabank in partnership with Cineplex, with support from Air Canada, the town of Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove, and Canadian AV.

The heartfelt celebration featured the unveiling of a commemorative plaque highlighting Rick’s Canada’s Walk of Fame induction, along with performances by Con O’Brien of The Irish Descendants, accompanied by Yvette Favaro, and local artist Mackenzie Critch.
Rick Mercer generously matched the traditional $10,000 donation, elevating the total contribution to $20,000 for Easter Seals NL, an organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life, self-esteem, and self-determination of people with disabilities in Newfoundland and Labrador.
