(Toronto, Ontario) Tuesday, August 20 – Canada’s Walk of Fame, along with National Premier Partner RBC, announced today that Shad, a twice-nominated Polaris Music Prize contender and 2011 JUNO Award winner for Rap Recording of the Year, is the newest addition to the powerhouse line-up of special guests slated to perform a few songs alongside Maestro Fresh Wes during a landmark concert at Massey Hall, as part of Canada’s Walk of Fame Festival.
On Saturday, September 21, the godfather of Canadian hip hop Maestro Fresh Wes and Friends, celebrate the 25th anniversary of his groundbreaking career. The concert will include performances from his JUNO Award-winning debut album Symphony In Effect as well as tracks off his 2013 collaborative album Orchestrated Noise. Maestro Fresh Wes will be joined by previously announced guests including K-OS, Kardinal Offishall and Classified, with more artists to be announced.
Tickets for the show start at $29.50. A VIP Ticket for $69.50 is also available, which includes a premium seat for the concert, a pre-show meet & greet and photo with Maestro Fresh Wes, as well as an autographed CD of his latest release, Orchestrated Noise.
Returning to Toronto from September 19-21, the Festival covers three days of music, featuring some of Canada’s most popular and iconic performers. Other headlining acts at Massey Hall include Burton Cummings and Band (Thursday, September 19) and Serena Ryder (Friday, September 20).
The Canada’s Walk of Fame Festival is a central part of a series of signature events that include the Red Carpet Induction Ceremony, the Canada’s Walk of Fame Awards, the Inductee Charity Ball and the national broadcast on Global, which will air in the fall (date and time tbc).
