(Toronto, Ontario) April 1, 2013 – Canada’s Walk of Fame, along with National Premier Partner RBC, announces the return of its annual inductee nomination campaign, in partnership with the RBC® Visa Infinite‡ Avion® card. Beginning today, fans from across the country and around the world have the opportunity to nominate an outstanding Canadian who has demonstrated the true essence of the Canadian identity to receive a Canada’s Walk of Fame Award. Nominations for celebrating the achievements of Canadians who have excelled in the fields of music, film, sport, television, literature, visual and performing arts as well as science and innovation will be accepted through Tuesday, April 30 at 11:59 PM ET. This year’s inductees will be honoured during the national Canada’s Walk of Fame Awards broadcast on Global Television and Slice this fall.
Canada’s Walk of Fame is expanding the ways that fans can submit nominations.
In addition, to commemorate its 15th Anniversary, Canada’s Walk of Fame is launching a retrospective timeline on www.canadaswalkoffame.com/timeline that allows viewers to engage with featured videos, image galleries and highlighted inductee moments, including red carpet arrivals, awards show tributes and performances from the past 15 years. Fans can also share their favourite Canada’s Walk of Fame timeline moment online for a chance to attend the 2013 Canada’s Walk of Fame Awards Show.
